In the framework of its Cultural and Academic Program, Kaos GL Association organizes International Feminist Forum on March, events in Ankara in the scope of International Meeting Against Homophobia on 17th of May and Symposium Against Discrimination in the scope of 10th of December Human Rights Week.

Cultural and Academic Program

In the framework of its Cultural and Academic Program, Kaos GL Association organizes International Feminist Forum on March, events in Ankara in the scope of International Meeting Against Homophobia on 17th of May and Symposium Against Discrimination in the scope of 10th of December Human Rights Week.

Each year Kaos GL also organizes the events of Local Meeting against Homophobia in more than 20 cities.

As part of the Academic Studies, Kaos GL supports the organization of “Criticism of Heterosexism and Alternative Policies” course during fall term and “Queer Studies” course during spring term.

KaosQ+ an academic journal supports the academic studies on Queer Studies.

As a part of the ‘Classes against Discrimination Program’, Kaos GL also participates in the different courses from different departments during academic year in Ankara in order to increase the visibility of LGBTI people in academic field.

Kaos GL supports academic studies on LGBTI issues.

Within the scope of Kaos Cultural Center, social activities, panels and interviews are organized.

Kaos GL aims to increase visibility of LGBTI people and to act with solidarity with the public opposition as part of Kaos on the Street - Action Program

Kaos GL Library conducts archive and documentation works on LGBTI issues. It also encourages the researchers and academicians who want to work on this field of study.

Human Rights Program

In the framework of Human Rights Program, Kaos GL conducts the monitoring and reporting activities against human rights violations concerning LGBTI individuals. After the media monitoring and reporting activities, Kaos GL also shares its annual reports on violations of human rights with public via kaosgl.org.

Kaos GL conducts Refugee Support Program as a subprogram within which LGBTI refugees are provided legal, social and judicial support.

Kaos GL also organizes Human Rights trainings for social services workers, workers of Psychological Counseling and Guidance, teachers, psychologist, psychiatrist and lawyers. 

Media and Communication Program

Since September 1994, Kaos GL has published Kaos GL Magazine regularly. The magazine regarded as the memory of LGBTI movement brings the agenda of both LGBTI movement and other movements solidarity with Kaos GL up for discussion.

KaosGL.org an alternative website focused on LGBTI news gives wide publicity to the news of LGBTI movement, feminism, antimilitarism and any other struggles against discrimination.

In the scope of Media Monitoring Activities, Kaos GL conducts the monitoring activities in order to reveal and change the homophobic and transphobic language of mainstream media. It also publishes annual reports on the activities.

Local Reporter Network is a network created in order to strengthen LGBTI journalism and to increase the visibility of LGBTI people and organizations in local level. Since 2007, the network has been trying to amplify not only movement against homophobia and transphobia, but all public opposition.

With the network, Kaos GL aims to publish local news on kaosgl.org. Anyone can participate in the network by attending the Reporter Trainings. Since 2007, more than 300 reporter candidates have participated in the trainings. The news prepared by those reporters have also been published in kaosgl.org in the first place and in the many other media organizations.  

Capacity Development ProgramKaos GL supports and promotes the establishment of local LGBTI organizations. It also conducts the capacity development activities in order to increase the awareness of NGOs about homophobia and transphobia.
